This project is designed to help future educators develop cultural sensitivity and enhance their
ability to communicate with students and families from diverse backgrounds. The project
consists of three parts:
Part 1: Autobiography
Write a 3-page autobiography highlighting key life events related to the following areas:

Part 2: Biography
Write a 3-page biography of an individual from a culture different from your own. Choose
someone outside your circle of friends and family. Conduct unstructured interviews to gather

autobiography and the biography. Reflect on how these differences are shaped by educational
experiences and societal factors. Discuss your perceptions of race, class, gender, and related
social issues.
