To prepare:
- Review the search strategies you learned in Week 3 and the video titled Identifying Gaps in the Literature.
- Using the search strategies you have learned about, find six recent, scholarly (peer-reviewed) articles that support your research problem. You may have already collected articles in previous assignments, and they may be used for this Assignment.
- Use the APA Course Paper Template (APA 7) found in this week’s Learning Resources to complete your Assignment.
Assignment: 2–3 pages, not including title page or references page(s)
- Create a Research Article Summaries document on which you can list, in alphabetical order, the six peer-reviewed articles related to your topic with a concise summary.
- Each research article summary should use the following format:
Complete, APA reference entry, followed by(a) In-text citation(b) What was studied(c) What was found(d) Why this research is important in relation to your study. This evidence provides the justification for your research problem.Note: The above research article summary format is used in the “Supporting Literature” section of the Prospectus form.
- Keeping in mind what makes a good research article, compare them with a focus on how the authors have used evidence to justify their research problem and question.
Note: Save this Research Articles Summaries document, as you will add to and revise it in future weeks.
